Overview

FirstCall Emergency App is a mobile application designed to supplement Nigeria's existing emergency response system. It allows users to track the arrival of firefighting vehicles in real-time, as well as providing fire response and educating its users on basic fire safety tips and fire equipment shopping. With FirstCall, you can ensure that help is on the way when you need it most.

goal

The aim was to devise an innovative approach that enables users to quickly and easily report fire emergency situations to the authorities, enhance community fire safety awareness and education, track fire unit teams in real-time, and create watchlists of their friends and families, as well as shop for fire safety equipment.

CHALLENGES

The fire emergency response system in Nigeria is unfortunately inadequate and does not meet the needs of the population. The response times are too slow, and the population are not adequately trained. This has resulted in an increase in the number of fires and related fatalities, as well as a decrease in public safety.

SOLUTIONS

As a UI/UX designer, before I design a fire emergency report system, I understand the importance of taking into account the unique needs and objectives of the users. It is essential to consider the context in which the system will be used and the functional requirements of the system to design a solution that truly meets the needs of the users. Moreover, I consider the user interface design principles and usability guidelines that best fit the user's needs. I also focus on the user experience design principles, such as user flow, user journey, and user story mapping, to ensure that the system is intuitive and easy to use for the end-users.
